Ah to be one of the 650 invitees that attended the night of all French nights.  UNESCO celebrated French gastronomy by donating the 1200 euro per-plate price tag towards an interactive cuisine museum, and a portion for Japanese tsunami victims. April 2011 saw the most splendid of dinner parties take place at the Château de Versailles, full of Champagne (actually from Champagne in the Ardenne region, not sparkling wine as Australians have become so accustomed to!), and cuisine delivered by sixty of the top chefs in France. The masters worked variations of fresh local seafood and prime countryside produce at the Palace, while twenty-two sommeliers poured 310 bottles of fine wines, amidst eight thousand white tulips… Divine doesn’t cover it.
